Dr. Castroll received his BA from Rice University, his MA from the University of Texas, and his MD degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Nassau County Medical Center and a residency in Psychiatry at the State University of New York at Stony Brook where he served as Chief Resident. He is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Stony Brook where he supervises residents.
His major interest is the psychopharmacology treatment of mood disorders, anxiety disorders, including PTSD, schizophrenia, and addictive disorders. He has 30 years of experience in the practice of both inpatient and outpatient psychiatry.
Dr Castroll is board certified in psychiatry and is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.
